Melvin Quinones
At Victory Musical Instruments, founder and President Melvin Quinones intricately weaves together the elements of Sound, Feel, and Look to shape the essence of his distinguished wind instrument line. Melding expertise in music, engineering, and technology, Quinones brings forth a distinct approach to wind instrument development. His mastery extends beyond conventional manufacturing, seamlessly integrating innovative and cutting-edge techniques. This fusion has proven pivotal in addressing the demand for high-quality instruments that cater to the diverse needs of musicians across the spectrum.

Melvin's dedication to music was evident early on. As a teenager, he was already recording and touring as a saxophonist with local bands in his home country of Puerto Rico. At 17, Melvin joined the U.S. Army Reserves and served in the Army National Guard Band while simultaneously studying music education at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico.

As a young adult, Melvins’ focus transitioned toward digital audio workstations. His knack for resolving technical challenges in music recording steered him towards a successful career in the tech industry, including a significant tenure at Microsoft.

Leveraging his dual expertise in music and technology, Melvin founded MyMusicTalk.com in 2008, a social network dedicated to musicians. This platform expanded his network within the music industry and deepened his understanding of musicians’ needs, industry dynamics, and specific market gaps that helped shape the founding and trajectory of The Growling Sax and Victory Musical Instruments.

The company’s focus on exceptional sound and intonation, improved mechanisms, and ergonomic design has garnered significant attention and awards. Under Melvins’ vision, Victory Musical Instruments has grown to become the preferred brand for musicians, educators, and dealers worldwide.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Melvin is also a diehard Formula 1 fan and enjoys sporting events. He loves spending quality time with his family, fiance and their son. Additionally, he enjoys performing with his Church band and is passionate about his faith-based, non-profit organization “Dance Like David”, which is dedicated to bringing educational resources, musical instruments, and other daily necessities to developing countries.
